Résumé :
Translation Service Learning for Future Africa (TSL-FA), a Marie Skłodowska-Curie PartiCIVIS project, engages Master’s students in Literary Translation at Aix-Marseille University in participatory research with partners across ten African countries and the CIVIS alliance. Through service learning fieldwork, students collaborate with local communities, NGOs, and cultural institutions to establish non-profit translation agencies that address concrete social, cultural, and informational needs, with particular attention to vulnerable groups such as women and children. In a multilingual African context of over two thousand languages, the project promotes translation between regional African languages and into international vehicular languages, aiming to enhance access to knowledge and to make the experience of linguistic and cultural otherness intellectually and ethically meaningful.
