Dave Bainbridge is a researcher and musician based in Manchester (UK). He studied music to Master’s level at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he is now undertaking a PhD funded by an Arts and Humanities Research Council Studentship. His doctoral thesis pursues a correspondence between Derrida and Badiou on event and decision and the binding of politics and art to these questions.
As a musician, Dave works in contemporary and experimental music, sometimes on guitars, sometimes with hammers, in venues from international festivals to basements, warehouses and car parks.
