Borders, edges, limits : from border to border of the Mediterranean, where the migrant crisis is at stake; from border to border of Derrida's work, where the border processes its deconstructing work ; or putting texts border against border to make appear a neckline, a disjunction, an economimesis ; or going aboard in the great contemporary debates, enrolling in the political, fighting for environment, for animal and for human condition… but is it fighting, according to Derrida, when the method consists in turning upside down the borders of a problem, to make appear the disruptions of the discourses within which they are stuck? In The Truth in Painting, Derrida remarks that the French "bord" and the English "board" share the same etymology : from one side, a limit, the danger of an overboard ; from the other side, a plain board, on which one can walk, a territory one can appropriate. From border to border, while deconstruction is at play, one can question its methods, commitments and ambiguities.

This issue of Malice hosts, at a historical moment of the revolution initiated by deconstruction, those who were to be participants to a Conference which was ultimately suspended… at the border…
